Be a leader. Be a positive influence. Set a higher standard.

Live above that.

Above That Club is the youth leadership program of the Fountain Hills Protect Our Youth Coalition, giving students the opportunity to become leaders, positive role models, and prevention advocates in their schools and community.

The Club empowers students to rise above the pressures that can negatively impact their future—including alcohol, vaping, marijuana, fentanyl, and other substance use. Rather than simply telling young people to “say no,” Above That encourages them to recognize what they are saying yes to: their goals, health, friendships, families, talents, and future.

Youth Leading Youth

We believe young people can be some of the most powerful voices for prevention. Above That Club members help develop and share positive prevention messages, participate in school and community events, support younger students, and encourage their peers to make healthy choices.

Members have opportunities to take on leadership roles, work as a team, volunteer throughout the community, and represent the Coalition at special events and prevention activities.

Learning Through Real Conversations

Throughout the year, Above That Club welcomes guest speakers who share real experiences and important information about substance use, mental wellness, healthy decision-making, leadership, and overcoming challenges.

These conversations give students a safe place to ask questions, learn from others, and better understand how the choices they make today can affect their future.

Leadership Beyond the Classroom

Above That Club is about more than meetings. Members put leadership into action by participating in Red Ribbon Week, community events, prevention campaigns, service projects, school activities, and other Coalition initiatives throughout the year.

Students learn communication, teamwork, responsibility, public speaking, event planning, and community service while building relationships with local leaders and organizations.

Building the Next Generation of Prevention Leaders

Above That Club gives students something prevention programs cannot create through posters or presentations alone—a voice and a seat at the table.

By investing in youth leadership, we are helping students become confident advocates for themselves and their peers while creating a culture where making healthy choices is something to be proud of.
