Red Ribbon Week

October 23rd - 31st

A national awareness campaign to keep kids drug and alcohol free.

Engaging our Fountain Hills students through activities, events, and community outreach.

During this week-long awareness campaign, students across the district in Fountain Hills will learn about the benefits of staying drug and alcohol free. The week consists of activities like spirit week, an awareness walk, pledging, door decorating, and tulip planting, and attending an Educational Health Fair for both students and their parents.

2025 Red Ribbon Week has been partially funded by a generous grant from Republic Services.

PSA Video Contest

High school students created a PSA video using this year’s Red Ribbon Week theme: “Life is a Puzzle, Solve it Drug Free” for a chance to win up to $500. The video had to be at least 30 seconds long and include messaging related to staying drug and alcohol free. They could include data-related facts if they provide a source link with your submission. The PSA video can be done by one person, a group of kids, or a club on campus (If group PSA – all contributors split the winnings equally or clubs can use it as a fundraiser for their club). All entries have a chance to be shown to the Fountain Hills Middle School students!

Submissions need to be a video file (mp4, mov) with a maximum file size of 20mb. Please make these as horizontal videos (landscape format, not Tik Tok verticals)

Red Ribbon Week Activities

Plant the Promise

We join in with other schools, businesses, families and youth across America and plant tulip bulbs that will bloom and serve as a reminder to stay drug-free. Bulbs that are planted during October will bloom in April during National Alcohol Awareness Month.

Educational Health Fair

The Educational Health Fair is for all students, parents, grandparents, and guardians. It features more than a dozen organizations and agencies such as the DEA, Maricopa County Sheriff’s Office, Fort McDowell Department of Education, Maricopa County Health Department, PTO, Boys and Girls Club, Kiwanis, and High School volunteers.

Door Decorating

Classrooms work together to create incredible door decorations with age-appropriate messaging around making good choices and living a drug-free life.

Little Falcons Coloring Activity

Our Little Falcons Preschoolers were even involved in Red Ribbon Week with a fun coloring activity where they colored the red ribbon while learning about healthy ways to take care of themselves.

Awareness Walk

Students, parents, and teachers joined together on the track to walk together in support of the Red Ribbon Week initaitves.

Spirit Week

Students are encouraged to show their support through spirit days! These include fun dress-up opportunities like crazy sock day, hat day, and wear red day!

The Pledge Wall

Fountain Hills students took the pledge to live a drug and alcohol free life! Pledges are displayed in the halls as a reminder through the year of their commitment.
